Looking forward what do we expect from this year ? Locally of particular note is the new ‘access to neighbouring land’ law which will enable property owners to enter onto neighbours property to maintain their home. The law should hopefully allow lenders to be more flexible where there are no formal rights to access neighbouring property to maintain gables, roofs etc. This law has been many years in the drafting and some properties that were previously un-mortgageable will hopefully now be able to be sold.
Martel Maides Newsletter - Review 2016
So – 2016 has drawn to a close– and what a year it was ! The Guernsey property market was relatively quiet ( in a good way ) when compared to Brexit, Trump and Eurozone machinations. Numbers of property transactions through the Greffe are substantially up and we expect that to continue into this year.
