Following another hugely entertaining evening at Beau Sejour - and in the midst of swirling lights, glamour, glitter and the contents of an entire florist littering the dance floor - Island’s Insurance director Stuart Wilson and his partner Chloe Dyke took the 2011 Martel Maides Dancefloor Challenge title, ahead of nine other couples. While a competition needs a winner, there’s no doubting that every entrant enjoyed themselves to the full and there were some outstanding performances on the night.
Jeanne le Cocq and Celena Tabel both competed with honours while representing the sponsors Martel Maides. While Celena carries the style and elegance of one of the Island’s foremost dancers, Jeanne, as one of the ‘novice’ competitors, put in a very poised and polished performance that marked her out as a favourite when it came to the popular vote.
Invariably sold out in minutes, this event remains one of the most sought after tickets of the year and the Guernsey Amateur Dancesport Association, Sueco and the staff of Beau Sejour are all to be congratulated for putting on another successful night; this time for the benefit of the sponsors’ chosen charity, the Sunflower Trust.
