 The webcam at Martel Maides' High Street office is positioned at third floor level on the sea front and displays the views available to those lucky few who occupy desks beside a window. We recognise the truth behind the saying 'position, position, position'.

While we're all too busy to ever take time out to gaze out to sea, we thought you might like to enjoy the outlook yourselves. You could even send a link to your island-loving friends who might like to watch the sunrise over St Peter Port, the ebb and flow of the tide, the movement of boats and the arrival of cruise liners in front of Herm and Jethou.

For those of you unfamiliar with Guernsey, the view takes in the visitors' marina in the front of the picture which is usually full with French and English yachts at the height of the boating season, Castle Cornet on the right hand side, and the islands of Herm and Jethou in the distance. The camera faces pretty much due east.
