Martel Maides Auctions . . . . . . in a Field of Their Own!

Recently spotted as an exhibit on the Torteval Scarecrow Walk, effigies of auctioneers Clive Maides (believed to be the one seated) and Nick Renny (the standing one - before his haircut) either engrossed in a complicated game of Sudoku or selling numberplates.

In this enlightened age, good to see the Tortevallais employing scare tactics to frighten the crows off, rather than the age old method of simply stoning them!

Congratulations to the Markwick family for at least giving us a good laugh!
